Hello members!

Monday, September 8, 2014 was the first meeting of the year for Viera Woman's Club! Wow! What a turnout... Would you believe "99" of you stepped into our new venue at the Brennity of Melbourne? Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments I received. Food was great...plenty of room, beautiful setting, complete with a warm reception from our board members. Couldn't be any better!

Of the "99" people in attendance, 29 ladies were guests. We are receiving many applications for membership and interest in our VWC has never been higher. It was well worth the extra effort many of our board members undertook this summer to create "welcome bags" for our present members, create new Tri-folds for our display boards, generate new budgets for the upcoming year, and present general information to the audience about membership. A lot of hours, but so well worth it.  I just have to give praise to those board members whom worked on these many projects with me as I could not have done it without them. Well done team!

We passed our "Operating Budget" for the year, however, we are currently making some slight changes to our "Fundraising Budget" which will again be presented to the membership for approval on October 13, 2014. We aim for excellence!

We have a very busy month ahead of us. The Swing for Charity Golf event is on October 24th, so if you received tickets from our fundraising committee, please try to sell them. Our charities are depending on us.

If you like Bunco, there will be a VWC Halloween Bunco notice soon circulating with more information. It will be held at the Heritage Isle Club House on October 29, 2104; 6 pm-10pm.The cost of the event is $20.00 per person, with prizes for most buncos, most losses, best costumes, etc.....more info on the actual flyer which will be distributed at the October 13, 2014 meeting.

If you could, please bring a bag of candy to our October 13, 2014 meeting as a donation to the Halloween Bunco Fundraiser. We had over 100 people sign up last year, and I expect more this year, but space is limited. Please sign up early if you wish to attend. Flyers will be provided at our October meeting.

Thanks everyone!

August 22, 2014
Good morning ladies!
Viera Woman's Club agreed last Spring to host the August 22, 2014 District 6 Presidents' Council Meeting; and I am pleased to report it was a huge success! It was an honor to facilitate our District 6 President, Julia George and our very own Sarah Anthony, both whom prepared and presented to our respective clubs the elements in leadership skills coupled with the necessities of agendas and Roberts Rules of order, which contained key points in conducting business meetings.

I especially loved the book "Roberts Rules for dummies"! [*:) happy]  (Yes, I promise I personally will purchase one and when my presidency is completed, I will donate it to the next President)... I am sure it will prove invaluable...I know it will be invaluable to me!

Nine clubs within our District, which includes Flagler, Volusia and Brevard Counties, were represented at Friday's event. They loved our own VWC's new venue at the Brennity. Big plus was the "huge" projection screen and the beautiful dining room which was filled with both sunlight and smiles for most of the day. People were pleased with the selection of breakfast treats and truly loved the surprise dessert served at lunch! Yum!

Many people traveled a great distance to not only attend the meeting, but to learn and interact with other ladies who offered their many and varied experiences. The ladies who came the furthest were those from "Grand Haven", located in Palm Coast. Thank you so much!!

I asked my Executive Board and our CSP chairs to attend this meeting as it is both a valuable learning tool and an invaluable way to meet many other members of our D6 District. I am hoping the next time we have a District meeting, many of our VWC members will consider attending.

Speaking of attending, please be sure to mail your  $10.00 for September's general meeting to Judy Mammay, 4589 Brantford Court, Viera, FL  32955 by Wednesday, September 3, 2014. There is also a basket at her door if you wish to drop it off.

Noor Tawfik is taking reservations to the September convention, and has requested your reservations be sent to her by Tuesday, September 2, 2014. If you have questions, please contact Noor.

Thanks everyone! See you soon...

August 16, 2014
Good morning ladies!

Yesterday's Membership Meeting was fabulous! Even the bad weather couldn't damper our spirits!

Members and guests were equally represented among the attendees. A good sign for the VWC as it means we're becoming very well known; and from what I heard people say to me yesterday, a respected commodity to our community. Would you believe a number of ladies attended after they read about the meeting on our very own VWC "Web-Site"! Fantastic!

In all, Eloise and I counted at least 60 people! Brightly colored umbrellas opened and left outside the front door to dry let neighbors know something special was going on inside...and they were right! The meeting was just as electric as the lighting outdoors..

Lana Duncan, our ARTS CSP was busily taking pictures during the meeting, so I know some of them will be posted to the web very soon. Keep an eye out for them.

For those of you who donated "Snacks and drinks" for the trainers of CCI; and the much needed "Doggie Treats" for the dogs in training, please be sure to record the cost of your donations under "Presidents Project", CCI.. There will still be a drop off box at our meetings so Jeanne Steele can record your hours.

Thanks everyone! Each of you is very important to our club... We are a "TEAM"!

Have a great weekend!
