The GFWC Viera Woman’s Club is pleased to announce the new Space Coast Junior Woman's Club serving the greater Space Coast area. Ten ladies met and voted to establish the club on January 19, 2010. GFWC Viera Woman’s Club officers and chairwomen were present to provide club background and answer questions. Alice Rodriguez, the GFWC’s Florida Director of Junior Clubs, was the featured speaker.

Upon ratification in April, the Space Coast Junior Woman’s Club became a part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). The GFWC is the oldest organization of volunteer women in the world with more than 100,000 members in affiliated clubs in every state and over a dozen countries. GFWC and its members annually raise an average of $30 million on behalf of more than 100,000 projects, and volunteer more than five million hours.

 

In November 1922, Junior work was adopted as a division of the senior membership with Junior members reporting separately on their activities. Junior clubwomen gained separate status during the 1930-1932 Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs (FFWC) administration.

The goal of One Voice for Children is to have a dramatic, positive impact on the lives of Florida's children, to encourage members to continue working on projects that protect children and youth from harmful situations, encouraging healthy lifestyles, prevent substance abuse and youth suicide.

 

The Space Coast Junior Woman’s Club is accepting new members. Membership is open to all women who are between the ages of eighteen (18) and forty (40) years of age that reside in the Space Coast, Florida area.

When: Third Tuesday of the month, September through May, 6:30pm-8:00pm

Dues: $20 per year plus applicable GFWC and GFWC Florida per capita dues
